FINALLY... THE POLICE IN SINGAPORE!

Over at Sting's website, it has been announced the legendary band will be performing at the Indoor Stadium on 4 Feb 08.
Wow!
Ever since the Police began their reunion world tour, I'd been hoping for this to happen...
... and it is!!!
Can't wait.

Latest: Tickets for the concert are priced from $98 to a whopping $600! After much deliberation, I booked two $200 tickets for the missus and I. Guess Sting's mansion needs some refurbishing... just imagine a Singapore band commanding that kind of price....

I went to sistic the 1st day of sales to get $98 tickets (I'm poor ;-))... and the seats left were pathetic... went for the $148 tickets in the end. Here I come Stingo!!

Waste $600 to hear 'Every Breath You Take' and 'Roxanne' which has been done/sampled to death so many times?

Given their reputation for temperamental bad behaviour, this is going to be a wankfest compared to the Cure concert last year which was truly a tour de force.

Don't get me wrong, I love the music, I just despise the commercialisation. A true betrayal of their ragga ska punk roots.

Gordon, Andy and Stewart must be having a laugh.

It's all about ecomomics - supply & demand. The demographic for this concert will mostly be folks who can afford the steep prices, at a pinch. Late thirtysomethings and fortysomethings...
I personally don't begrudge the Police making their money - they will always be one of more all time faves and this gig is going to be a once-in-a-lifetime event so... can't wait.
de do do do de da da da

i cant agree more with kevin.
Its abt demand/supply and most importantly, appreciation to the music they made/ played.

On the earlier comments, theres a saying " Try to put a precious diamond onto the neck of a pig, it doesnt mean a thing coz its a PIG!"
